LETA Submission: NSW Net Zero Commission

11 July 2025

LETA has lodged a submission to the NSW Net Zero Commission’s Consultation Paper,, advocating for the development and deployment of low emission technologies to help New South Wales and Australia achieve their emission reduction goals efficiently and effectively.

The submission highlights the important role these technologies can play in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, both within NSW and nationally, and in strengthening Australia’s collaboration with key trading partners across the Asia-Pacific region.

It also outlines the policy frameworks and coordinated government action required to accelerate technology development and ensure alignment between State and Federal approaches under the Paris Agreement.

In preparing the submission, LETA drew on its engagement in NSW climate and energy policy processes, including its role on the NSW Environment Protection Agency’s Climate Change Mining Advisory Group, and collaborated with the NSW Minerals Council and the Australian Industry Greenhouse Network to ensure a cohesive, evidence-based response.
